Students will interview an elderly person and write some of their stories to give back to them in a reading on Friday. A time of connection, friendship, and learning about living history. The students make a real difference in the lives of the elderly people they get to know, while practicing the lifelong skills of listening, asking questions, and establishing rapport with people who are different from themselves.

Testimonials:
"This camp is a gem. It brings together writing, interviewing, creativity, and relatedness skills. It was precious to see the friendship forged between my daughter and two elderly women. It broadened her horizons in so many ways! This is education in the best sense of the word." -Debi Applebaum, Portland mom |
